Well, in the last week I have been toning down the workouts & working on the movements I am going to have to perform at the competition. Deadlifts have ALWAYS been a not so strong lift for me, but my goal is to do the 21-15-9 workout (it's with 185#) in under 10 minutes. I did it last time in just over 10 minutes, so I think that improvement in such a short time is doable. And I've been working on my box jumps, thrusters, and other things like pistols, HSPU's, things like that.

I've seen a more improvement in the last 3 weeks than I have in the last 3 months so I'm happy about this. I'm talking about my baby weight now, not lifting or time improvements. I haven't lost any weight though. I'm still going between 159 - 164. But I'm not complaining because I'm losing fat. Blake has noticed without me asking him a few times, which he rarely does! So that made me smile. Feels good to finally be okay with my body. I need to stop saying "back to myself" because myself has changed. I just have to get used to the new post baby body. That is a challenge in itself. I'm sure everything will return to almost where it was before, aka "normal," but I'm okay with where I am now, but I'm excited to lose the last 15 - 20 lbs & get to where I WANT to be.

This is our last few days of training before the competition. Nothing that's too hard but something to keep me going. Today we are going to do a Thruster ladder. 2 Thrusters every minute for 15 minutes & I'm going to do that at 95#. Then we'll workout on Saturday, Sunday, Monday & rest until Friday... Well, active rest. Not going to be laying on the couch or anything.

Muscle up... MADNESS!

So yesterday I was so sore I couldn't do a 75# squat without my leg literally cramping up. I was plenty hydrated, had a good meal blah blah blah. So I stopped there. I was doing Snatch Balance. Blake yelled at me because it wasn't part of my workout plan, but I wanted to do them. Oh well.

So today we did one of the Regional workouts. This is a workout that will be done on the last day. It's the last event I think... But if we make it to that day then I will be the one doing the workout.
20 Calorie Row
30 Burpees
30 Ground to OH 35# DB's
30 Toes to Bar
100' OH Walking Lunge 25# plate
150' Sprint

For the burpees, you do the burpee then jump onto 2 45# plates that are stacked up, lock your hips out, then you can step/jump back down from there.
It was sick. A great workout but my arms are toast. Especially with the TTB. I was doing them in sets of 5 then 2 or 3 maybe towards the end. It was hard. The ground to overhead was killer as well. 35# dumbells are a lot harder to handle like that than a bar would be.

I'm excited for this one at the competition. I really hope that our team makes it :)

Once again, we'll play a little catch up

I don't really know why I can't remember to update this blog daily. I am way too young to be forgetting so much! However, I am me, and I do that... with a lot of things. For example: Keys. I lose them a few times a day. Anyway, here's what I've been doing.

Wednesday
Back Squat
5 x 3
95#
115#
125#
I got to 125# & my body decided to hate me. I started to get sick & couldn't finish the set, or anything else for that matter. So that was all for Wednesday.
Thursday
The workouts for CrossFit Regionals came out & we were playing around with them. Blake & I are going to be doing a few workouts together which is pretty cool. The workout that we did together that night was:
21-15-9
Deadlift 185#/305#
Box Jumps 24"/30"

I used 185# for the first 5 reps & just couldn't hang. I dropped 10# to 175# & completed the workout in 10:04. Blake did it in 4:...something. He is disgusting. ;)
Friday
REST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saturday
Went to Skagit. Still feeling the effects of those workouts...

WOD 1
12 min AMRAP
10 HSPU Buy in
Remaining time

I didn't count well, but I know I got more than 5.

WOD 2
Another Regional WOD

Team of 4
250 Pullups
250 KB Swings
250 Double Unders
250 OHS 65#/95#

I'm not sure how long this took us to do, but we learned about what we needed to change. I won't actually be doing this workout and neither will Blake. But it was fun.

That weight felt pretty easy. So I'm thinking I should have gone a little bit higher. Next time :)

Tuesday:
Yvette's "Muscle Class" at Northend
Basically it's like a circuit of different exercises, lots of isometrics. Which was great, because I don't really work a lot on that. However, my back wasn't happy with me. There were a few things I had to break on, but it was a great class.
Then after that I went to the Shed and we worked on pistols, handstand pushups, L-sits, and deadhang pullups for about 15 minutes.
Then we did Annie. Got a PR @ 7:17! whoop whoop!
Annie
50-40-30-20-10
Double Unders
Sit ups

Wednesday
For the life of me, I didn't write it down. You think that I would eventually develop good habits about writing (here or there!). I need to stop this "I'll do it later" crap.
Thursday
REST :)

Friday
Back Squat
5 x 3 up to 135#
Bench
5 x 5 up to 105# (@105 I only did 2 reps... Not my day!)

Saturday
Front Squat
5 x 3 up to 115#
then another 5 x 3 at 115#
Front Squats are getting better! (& easier!)

Then 50 Man makers with 10# DB's for time
Time: 11:47

Then ran approximately 2 miles, untimed. This was the worst part. I was not feeling that great, so it wasn't that fun. But I am glad I did it. I will be doing that (it's around the block) 4 days per week now to try to shed these last few pounds. My goal is to lose enough weight that I fit back into my old summer shorts (By the time we go to OK on June 30). Might happen, might not. But I don't care about the pounds, just my size. And body fat %. So I'll keep truckin and see if I can get there. I hope so! I have to be in a bathing suit and the last time I wore a one piece I think I was about 12!

Sunday
Hot Yoga
(My FAVORITE workout ever. I look forward to this every week)

Last week, this week

Well. I have a sick baby... still. Poor thing! I just think it's so ironic that when we totally stopped breast feeding that she gets (and STAYS) sick. I feel so bad for her. I'm taking her back to the doctor tomorrow if she doesn't act better by the end of today.

So. May 4th was the last time I was on here. I can't remember what I did on the 5th, but Saturday the 6th I did CF Total.
Press 110#
5# PR, but definitely needs work
Back Squat 175#
21# PR. I am so happy about this!
Deadlift 215#
So disappointed in this lift. Not happy with this at all.
Overall, I am happy with it. But it needs work. Of course. But it will always "need" work.
Sunday Hot Yoga

Monday May 9th

30 Kettle Bell Swings 35#
3 Box Jumps 24"
27 KBS
6 Box Jumps
24 KBS
9 Box Jumps
21 KBS
12 Box Jumps
18 KBS
15 Box Jumps

21 Box Jumps

24 Box Jumps
6 KBS
27 Box Jumps

This workout was horrible! But awesome. It was a lot of fun.

Today I have a "muscle class" I'm going to go to because I will be teaching it in the future, and it will eventually be my own KB class :)

Then off to the Shed for a lift and WOD. Gotta get this last 15 lbs off!!!! Whoop whoop!

What a week.

Well. Elliana has been sick all week. Bad cold. Poor thing...
Monday:
Back Squat
5 - 65#
5 - 75#
5 - 85#
5 - 95#
5 - 105#
10 - 120#
Good Morning:
5 x 10 - 65#

Leg Lifts and something else was in the programming for that day, but my left hand is seriously tore up from CTB pullups, so I skipped that.

Tuesday:
Ellie was up ALL night Monday night/Tuesday am. If I would have gone to the gym today it would have been a complete waste of time. I was beyond exhausted.

Wednesday:
5 Rounds
200 m sprint
10 Burpees

They were each individually timed, but I don't have my notebook with me and don't remember them. But they were between 1:30 and 2:15. Not too bad. It was actually supposed to be 10 rounds. No way. I almost fell out. I have no clue why either. I ate about an hour before we worked out and I was plenty hydrated. I don't know why that happened.

Working out tomorrow again at 9 am.
