Well, in the last week I have been toning down the workouts & working on the movements I am going to have to perform at the competition. Deadlifts have ALWAYS been a not so strong lift for me, but my goal is to do the 21-15-9 workout (it's with 185#) in under 10 minutes. I did it last time in just over 10 minutes, so I think that improvement in such a short time is doable. And I've been working on my box jumps, thrusters, and other things like pistols, HSPU's, things like that.
I've seen a more improvement in the last 3 weeks than I have in the last 3 months so I'm happy about this. I'm talking about my baby weight now, not lifting or time improvements. I haven't lost any weight though. I'm still going between 159 - 164. But I'm not complaining because I'm losing fat. Blake has noticed without me asking him a few times, which he rarely does! So that made me smile. Feels good to finally be okay with my body. I need to stop saying "back to myself" because myself has changed. I just have to get used to the new post baby body. That is a challenge in itself. I'm sure everything will return to almost where it was before, aka "normal," but I'm okay with where I am now, but I'm excited to lose the last 15 - 20 lbs & get to where I WANT to be.
This is our last few days of training before the competition. Nothing that's too hard but something to keep me going. Today we are going to do a Thruster ladder. 2 Thrusters every minute for 15 minutes & I'm going to do that at 95#. Then we'll workout on Saturday, Sunday, Monday & rest until Friday... Well, active rest. Not going to be laying on the couch or anything.
